This has to be if not my FAVORITE herbal formula, is definetely one of them! Incredible benefits of a bunch of special health promoting herbs whole body wide!

Here is a list of the herbs contained within.

Chaga
: "The King" of Medicinal Mushrooms/Diamond of the Forest

Mushrooms have long been associated with nearby enchanted, magical realms. Adding the super-mushroom chaga to your diet makes it easier to feel the enchantment of living. Chaga mushrooms grow in the forests of Siberia, Canada, Northern Japan and the Northeastern United States. Chaga is highly prized in Russian and East European herbal practices, with the modern clinical research validating many of the health benefits described in those herbal sources.

Chaga is unique among medicinal mushrooms: Like all medicinal mushrooms, Chaga contains the beta glucan rich polysaccharides that give medicinal mushroom extracts their potent immune supporting properties. However, Chaga also contains other active compounds, primarily betulinic acid and polyphenols, which can give Chaga extracts powerful anti-oxidant properties*.

Chaga has a high ORAC score (measurement of antioxidant properties), similar to that of blueberry extracts.

Chaga is a mushroom that must be wild-crafted (picked in the wild and not cultivated.) Only those mushrooms harvested from living birch trees will contain all the active compounds Chaga is famous for. The mushroom fruit body absorbs betulin from the birch bark, converting it to betulinc acid.

Reishi: "The Queen" of Medicinal Mushrooms/The Great Protector/The Herb of Immortality

Reishi mushroom is arguably the greatest tonic herb on earth. It is certainly the most revered herbal substance in Asia, ranking with Ginseng as the elite substance for the attainment of radiant health, longevity and spiritual attainment. It has maintained that position for at least 2000 years, and its reputation and value are only increasing. Since Reishi has been known to have many functions, it has been the subject of a great deal of research in recent years. It is extremely safe and non-toxic.

Taoists have continuously claimed that Reishi promotes calmness, centeredness, balance, inner awareness and inner strength. They have used it to improve meditative practices and to protect the body, mind and spirit so that the adept could attain both a long and healthy life and spiritual “immortality” (an enlightened state).

The Red Reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) is a superb anti-stress herb. Throughout history it has been used to bring balance into the lives of people who needed help in this department, and that means most everyone. Deep in antiquity, it was routinely used by mountain hermits, monks, Taoist adepts and spiritual seekers throughout Asia because it was believed to help calm the mind, ease tension, strengthen the nerves, strengthen memory, sharpen concentration, improve focus, build will power and, as a result, help build wisdom.  That is why it was called the "Mushroom of Spiritual Potency" by these seekers. The people of Asia have never lost their faith in Reishi. They believe more than ever in Reishi's power to improve the quality of life by improving the inner life of a human being.

Reishi has traditionally been used as an anti-aging herb. It is highly protective and improves how most people handle stress.

All the scientific validation only explains the physical nature of Reishi, but it is the profound ability of Reishi to improve one's life on every plane that makes it so miraculous. Reishi is indeed calming and centering. Everyone who takes Reishi notices the peacefulness that seems to accompany its use. And Reishi seems to be cumulative, gradually strengthening the nerves and actually changing how we perceive life.

Reishi is among the rarest of jewels in nature. Reishi is a substance that builds health on all levels. Life itself is based on the ability to adapt to the stresses and the challenges that come our way every day. Reishi seems to provide an incredible resource of the full range of phytochemicals and energies we need to meet these challenges. There are over 800 natural bioactive constituents in Reishi™, each one subtlety tweaking the healthy functions of those who consume it.

Reishi is indeed "the great protector," protecting us on every level – physically, immunologically, mentally, and spiritually. It helps us adapt to the world and provides additional power for us to achieve a superior level of life. When we are so protected and so provided for, we can achieve things that otherwise would be impossible. That is why Reishi has been called the "herb of good fortune."

Reishi is now used as a general tonic to help develop energy, and to support digestion.

Reishi supports normal healthy immune functions. It is an immune "modulator" --- that is, it helps to modulate and fine tune the immune system. Our immune system is a virtually miraculous network of activities designed over millions of years.

Chemical constituents known as Reishi polysaccharides play an important role in supporting the body's overall immune functions. Reishi does not "stimulate" the immune system. It regulates it. And that is what makes Reishi so precious. Ganoderic acids promote proper oxygen utilization and support liver functions. Ganoderic acids are also antioxidant free-radical scavengers.

Reishi has been found to modulate the activities of nuclear factor kappa B (NFkB), a transcription factor found in all of our cells. Reishi is a dietary supplement that supports normal functions of the immune system.

Reishi is widely used in Asia to support normal cardiovascular functions.*

Natural Killer (NK) Cells

Perhaps one of the most well-known medicinal mushroom in Asian healing arts is Ganoderma lucidum, or better known by its common name, reishi. The mushrooms bioactive molecules and polysaccharides have been shown to better activate natural killer (NK) cells reducing cancer metastasis. NK cells are lymphocytes that perform immunosurveillance within the body, constantly on the lookout for “immuno-alerters” signaling tumor presence.

Reishi also has been shown to assist in slowing the growth (angiogenesis) of tumors as well as triggering programmed cell death in malignant cells. Currently, there is data to support the potential use of reishi as, at the very least, an adjunct therapy for colorectal cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, and breast cancer.

CORDYCEPS - The Endurance Mushroom

For thousands of years, Cordyceps (Cordyceps sinensis has been one of the most highly revered longevity herbs in Chinese medicine. At one time, the procurement of this mushroom was punishable by death unless it was for the emperor and his family.

Cordyceps: The Immune Booster has long been celebrated as one of the most effective immune system supporting, life-enhancing herbs on this planet.*

The polysaccharides present in Cordyceps help support the immune system and Cordyceps potent rejuvenation properties make it a highly treasured herb.*

Cordyceps: The Endurance Mushroom is known for its ability to help support stamina, energy, and endurance levels.*

In the 1990s, Cordyceps was brought to public attention by a Chinese Olympic team, who attributed their record-breaking runs to the use of this mushroom.

Cordyceps Mushroom is one of the superstars of the Chinese tonic herbal system. It is a strange mushroom that grows at very high altitude in the Himalayas. It is an extremely effective and powerful life-enhancing agent, ranking right up there with Wild Ginseng, Reishi and Sika Deer Antler. Because Wild Cordyceps is very rare, potent and highly treasured, it is very expensive (it is perhaps the most expensive herb in the world).

About twenty years ago, Asian scientists learned how to grow Cordyceps by cell culture. The mycelium of the cordyceps can be grown in tanks. Subsequent to this discovery, the cultured Cordyceps was tested for its constituents. The Cordyceps has a component profile that is very favorable**, even when compared to the Wild Cordyceps. Therefore, it is highly valued and widely used in tonic herbalism, especially in Japan. However, it is MUCH less expensive than the Wild Cordyceps from Tibet or Bhutan.

Cordyceps is considered to be a Yang primal essence (Jing) tonic of high stature. It has enormous renown as a life reinforcing tonic, and is said to build sexual and physical power, mental energy, and to support the immune systems of normal, healthy individuals.

Cordyceps is used to strengthen the body and mind at a fundamental level. It is said to be able to increase the “primary motive force for life activities.” Because it contains both Yin and Yang it can be used by anyone safely and over a long period of time. It replenishes Yin Jing, restoring the deep energy expended as a result of excessive exertion, adapting to stress or from aging.Cordyceps is thus one of the primary herbal substances used in tonic herbalism as an anti-aging agent and for the purposes of rejuvenation.

Cordyceps is very widely used for the purposes of strengthening the primal Kidney functions, which include sexual functions, brain power, structural integrity and healing ability of otherwise normal, healthy people. It is a very powerful Yang tonic. As a sexual tonic, Cordyceps is considered to be one of the best.

Consistent use of Cordyceps helps to strengthen the skeletal structure of normal, healthy individuals. Cordyceps is also a major Lung tonic. It can be used to strengthen respiratory power of normal, healthy individuals

Cordyceps is considered in Asia to be a powerful athletes tonic. It has no steroidal constituents, but greatly improves performance and muscle building capability of normal, healthy individuals.

Cordyceps can help support the bodys normal, healthy immune function.*

Not all cultured Cordyceps is the same. A number of manufacturers produce Cordyceps Mycelium, but the resulting product can vary widely. Dragon Herbs has studied the matter deeply and has identified the highest quality Cordyceps Mycelium for this product.*

Traditional Function

Nourishes Jing (both Yin and Yang), strengthens the Kidneys and Lungs and tonifies Qi*

Who can use it?

Because it contains both Yin and Yang it can be used by anyone safely and over a long period of time. It is a powerful athlete's herb because it supports respiratory and metabolic functioning.

MAITAKE - Hen of The Woods

Maitake (Grifola frondosa) is a medicinal mushroom that is best known for its ability to detoxify carcinogens as it contains beta glucan polysaccharides, which have been found to promote natural cell growth and energize the cellular immune system to an astounding degree. However, the health benefits of maitake are not limited to these two traits.

Maitake supports the healing of a broad spectrum of conditions including: helping protect the liver in handling chemical toxins; fighting hepatitis B; battling blood, stomach, and bone cell mutation; lowering high blood pressure and blood lipid levels (two key risk factor in cardiovascular disease); aiding digestion in the stomach and intestines; and, finally, provinding nutritional support by enhancing the colons ability to absorb micronutrients, especially copper and zinc.

Maitake has also been known to promote the following:
Supporting cardiovascular health by regulating blood pressure and normalizing cholesterol and blood lipids
Supporting the appropriate production of insulin
Stimulating the immune system
Activating macrophages, which consume mutated cells
Helping block the growth of tumors
Studies demonstrate Maitake is an effective tool in treating leukemia, stomach, and bone cancers
Relieving side effects of chemotherapy
Aiding digestion by eliminating food stagnation
Supporting liver health, especially as related to hepatitis
Fighting bacterial and viral infections

Maitake Mushroom Benefits: The Dancing Mushroom

Maitake, like the reishi mushroom, also contains a broad-spectrum array of bioactive molecules. In studies, maitake has shown similar results as the reishi mushroom in stimulating NK cell activity in cancer patients. The mushroom also shows promise in blocking tumor growth and activating malignant cell death through its specific immune-enhancing methods. Maitake has clinically shown promise for individuals with breast cancer, lung cancer, and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).

AGARICUS BLAZEI BENEFITS

Agaricus blazei is the newest medicinal mushroom. Also called the Royal Sun Agaricus, this medicinal mushroom was first discovered in Brazil, where the native cultures prepared it as a tea for medicinal purposes but also ate it as a food. They have so much respect for this mushroom that they call it "The Mushroom of the Gods".
The Agaricus blazei mushroom contains special types of polysaccharides known as beta glucans. Studies show that beta glucan stimulates the activity of natural killer cells which are a vital part of the immune system. These polysaccharides are believed to be among the most potent polysaccharides for immune health yet discovered, given their ability to modulate the immune response and promote cellular health.*
In addition to the beta 1-3 glucan found in most medicinal mushrooms, the Agaricus blazei mushroom also contains a unique beta 1-6 glucan; this may explain the profound immune supporting health benefits documented in the published research.*

Agaricus Blazei Murill: Tokyos Cancer Secret

This mushroom made perhaps the biggest splash when a study jointly conducted by the Medical Department of Tokyo University, The National Cancer Center Laboratory, and Tokyo College of Pharmacy showed a complete recovery in 90% of guinea pigs injected with cancer cells (180 sarcoma).

The pattern of other mushrooms was seen again as agaricus blazei murill activated macrophage and interferon immune activity leading to tumor shrinkage, a halt in metastasis, and reduction of future cancer occurrences. As an adjunct, agaricus blazei murill was shown to lessen the side effects in individuals undergoing chemotherapy for endometrial, cervical, and ovarian cancers.

SHIITAKE BENEFITS

Shiitake is a popular culinary mushroom used in dishes around the world. It contains a number of health-stimulating agents, including lentinan, the polysaccharide for which it was named. Lentinan has been isolated and used to treat stomach and other cancers due to its antitumor properties, but has also been found to protect your liver, relieve other stomach ailments (hyperacidity, gallstones, ulcers), anemia, ascites, and pleural effusion.

One of the more remarkable scientific studies demonstrating shiitake's antitumor effect was a Japanese animal study, where mice suffering from sarcoma were given shiitake extract. Six of 10 mice had complete tumor regression, and with slightly higher concentrations, all ten mice showed complete tumor regression.

Shiitake mushrooms also demonstrate antiviral (including HIV, hepatitis, and the "common cold"), antibacterial, and antifungal effects; blood sugar stabilization; reduced platelet aggregation; and reduced atherosclerosis. Shiitake also contains eritadenine, which has strong cholesterol-lowering properties. This medicinal mushroom is also packed with calcium, phosphorous, vitamins and minerals, as well as essential amino acids such as lysine, arginine, and many more.

TURKEY TAIL/CORIOLUS BENEFITS

Popularly known as Coriolus versicolor, Trametes versicolor (Turkey Tail) is a medicinal mushroom that has been recognized as a powerful healing tool in tradtional Asian medicine for centuries. It helps maintain excellent immune function, especially during times when the immune system would be otherwise compromised.

The trametes versicolor mushroom (Turkey Tail) has also been demonstrated strong antiviral, antimicrobial, and antitumor properties, which have been attributed to a protein-bound polysaccharide called Polysaccharide K (PSK), also known as Krestin. In the 1980s, the Japanese government approved the use of PSK for treating several types of cancers, and it is currently used to combat the disease alongside surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.

Polysaccharide P (PSP), another compound from Trametes (Turkey Tail), was discovered more recently, and has been studied mainly in China. Initial research suggests that PSP may slow the growth of certain tumors and help protect the immune system, especially from the effects of cancer treatment.

Turkey Tail: The $5 Million Dollar Mushroom

In 1976, a Japanese company patented certain extracts of this mushroom under the name PSK and later PSP. They have since become recognized cancer drugs in Japan. The anti-viral properties of the turkey tail mushroom offer a unique opportunity to target oncoviruses (tumor virus) such as human papillomavirus leading to cervical cancer, hepatitis C leading to liver cancers, and others. For this mushroom, again studies are showing increased NK activity towards tumor detection and eradication. This mushroom is in the process of a $5.4 million study by the National Institutes of Health that began in late 2012.

It is important to note that drug companies cannot patent mushrooms. Due to this fact, funds typically wont be allocated to study them unless they come from private institutions or government grants. However, this should be a positive as many studies only seek to isolate one part of a plant or mushroom to patent as a drug.

As mycologist (mushroom expert) Paul Stamets states, “Isolating one constituent from the others denatures and lessens the broad-spectrum potency of this natural, functional food.”

LIONS MANE - AMAZING MUSHROOM!

Health Benefits of Lions Mane Mushroom

  • Keeping the brain healthy – bioactive compounds known as hericenones and erinacines in Lions Mane have been shown to activate a protein peptide in our bodies known as “nerve growth factor,” or NGF. NGF is critically necessary for the growth, maintenance, and survival of nerve cells in our brain and nervous system, known as neurons.

These naturally occurring Lions Mane compounds also trigger a process known as re-myelination, which helps to keep neurons healthy and maintains their ability to conduct electrical signals efficiently.

Health experts believe that this ability of Lions Mane to protect, heal, and regenerate nerve cells will one day make it very useful for the treatment of Alzheimers disease, muscular dystrophy, senility, Parkinsons disease, and other neurological conditions.

  • Supporting memory and cognition – In laboratory experiments, Lions Mane was seen to prevent damage to short-term and visual recognition memory. Short-term memory is our ability to keep a small amount of information in our minds in an active, readily available state for a short period of time. Visual recognition memory is our ability to recognize previously encountered events, objects, or people, to “remember” them.

Both of these types of memories are specifically lost in people with Alzheimers disease and other dementias. These results suggest that with further research Lions Mane may be used to slow down – and perhaps even prevent – these memory deficits from happening at all.

Indeed, in a double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled trial, Lions Mane consumption was seen to improve brain power scores in elderly Japanese men and women who had been diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). MCI can involve problems with memory, language, thinking, and judgment. It is considered to be an intermediate stage between the normal mental decline seen with aging and the more serious brain function deficits seen in dementias, such as Alzheimers disease

  • Boosting mood & concentration – Lions Mane also makes us feel good by reducing our levels of anxiety and depression and improving our ability to concentrate. In fact, Asian Buddhist monks are known to consume Lions Mane tea before meditation to enhance their powers of concentration. In other words, Lions Mane can help support our mental agility, mood, and concentration as we age.

The mushroom also helps ease issues related to menopause -- such as depression, irritability, anxiety and insomnia. Researchers at Kyoto Bunkyo University observed 30 menopausal women who were given either lion's mane or a placebo over the course of four weeks. The mushroom group reported a significant reduction in menopausal symptoms.

In Ancient China, Lions Mane (Hericium erinaceus), like other Tonic Herbs was reserved for members of the Aristocracy or the Emporer only.

There is some evidence that this mushroom may be beneficial to people suffering from high blood pressure. According to a study reported by Burton Goldberg in “Heart Disease”, a study of fifty four people with an average age of 58.6 with a blood pressure reading over 140/90 took three capsules of Lions mane per day for four weeks. All of the subjects blood pressure readings fell below 140/90.

Its key functions are percolating dampness and disinhibiting water, strengthening the spleen and stomach, and tranquilizing heart and soothe the nerves.

How to take

As Joyfully and gratefully as possible, simply add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon to either cold, warm or hot water, or add to your favorite juice, smoothie or even soup! You can even eat it from the spoon should you like! Depending on the taste. I've personally done all of these!

It's also important and powerful to take intentionally and with gratitude, appreciation and thanksgiving to the plants, Mother Earth/Gaia, and the Sun, and even any and all of the humans who helped and were involved, and to all parts and elements of nature and the ecosystems that played their part in bringing this final product to you.
